I know that some people who have read my previous review on spironolactone may feel that I didn’t treat it fairly. The truth of the matter is that spironolactone does actually work on most people who use it.

So, you now may want to ask if you should use it. My answer is that it depends on a number of factors. These are the things you need to consider in my opinion:

1. Do you want to regrow hair? If you do, then Spiro is not for you. Spironolactone really just helps you to stop losing your hair, but it doesn’t regrow hair. Therefore, it’s really not a miracle drug anyway.

2. Do you or anyone that has to be near you during the day have a sensitive nose? If they do, then this is not for you. You really need to consider whether or not you want to be associated with such a horrible fragrance as Spiro gives off. If you don’t care about smell, then you may want to consider it.

3. Do you care about how clean your hair looks most of the time? It’s not that it looks dirty, but it is greasy. You may be able to cover up the look of it with gel, but chances are, people will still notice.

So, if any one of those issues seems like a deal breaker, then you should not go with spironolactone. There are plenty of other drugs out there that work just as well or better and won’t make you look like a mountain man or smell like road kill. In fact, most other drugs really target hair regrowth, which is a lot better than just slowing down your current hair loss.

For information on the top hair loss products I recommend that don’t stink, go to my hair loss product reviews.

At some point in my hair loss journey, I was tempted to buy a product like this that was apparently supposed to shock my scalp back to life and really help me regrow some hair. I didnt’ go for it then, and I wouldn’t go for it now.

What it comes down to with products like this Bellamo Hair Laser Revital System is that it doesn’t really have anything involved in its technology that has ever been proven to do anything significant or actually have an effect on the rate of hair loss in either males or females.

The infrared light on the device is supposed supposed to help revitalize the hair follicles, but this has never been proven. There is a “comb” portion of it that is supposed to help massage the scalp, but there is no clinical evidence that a scalp massage by itself would actually increase hair vitality. Even if that were the case, it would be best to use something that costs under $400 to massage your scalp.

The serum and the shampoo are supposed to be the most important parts of the entire system, and they may actually have some merit, but because the developers of the system have chosen to keep the ingredients largely a secret, it’s impossible to know whether or not they have ever been proven to work.

I plan on just skipping over this product and moving on to something that works.

For some reason I am a little disappointed every time I look into another somewhat obscure hair loss product, only to discover that it’s obscure for a reason. If it were actually working in people, it would probably be a much more well-known product. Biostim is one such product.

On the Biostim website, they do actually have apparent results of clinical trials that have been conducted successfully. That would normally be enough to put my conscience to rest and just let everyone know that it’s a legitimate product. After all, testing is what proves these results. I do know, however, that they do not offer a 90 day guarantee like the products I recommend, so I was a little skeptical.

After looking into the situation a little further, I discovered that Belgravia Centre in the UK has attempted to contact the developers of this product to look into the methodization for the studies they conducted. The developers have chosen not to release the data for one reason or another.

I know from experience that if a company like Biostim wants to get people to buy their product, I would use real results as a majore selling point. I guess if you don’t have real results though, you might want to try to shy away from bringing light to that.

So, to make a long story short, don’t go for Biostim if you are serious about a hair loss cure.

Apparently not too long ago, L’Oreal came out with a product called Aminexil that was supposed to be able to aid in hair loss prevention. Lots of people were a little confused as to why a cosmetic company would suddenly come up with a cure for hair loss, while the pharmaceutical companies are still on the search. It doesn’t seem like a cosmetic company would really have enough knowledge to discover or develop a legitimate product.

Because L’Oreal is a fairly large company, you kind of have to give them credit for how much effort they put into the product and how well the have marketed it, despite their overall lack of knowledge when it comes to pharmaceuticals. As a result of their efforts, lots of hair loss products on the market right now have Aminexil in them.

This product has been in development for over a decade at this point, and they actually have not yet conducted a clinical trial in which they were able to definitively prove that Aminexil by itself can prove to be able to decrease the rate of hair loss. It has been proven to prevent perifollicular fibrosis, or scarring of the hair follicles, but that’s really not enough.

In the future, it’s possible that L’Oreal may be able to alter the product or change it just enough for it to become a legitimate hair-loss product, but in the mean time, it’s not really necessary to buy in unless you are concerned with preventing perifollicular fibrosis rather than just re-growing your hair.

I know that when I fall asleep at the pool or the beach, I can come home and use aloe vera to help me recover more quickly. I had heard that people have been using it as a hair loss remedy, so I figured I would look into it as well. I’ll pretty much look into anything that’s not incredibly expensive. That’s what I get for being curious.

As far aloe vera’s ability to improve skin conditions, there is really no question about that. Pretty much all my friends use it, and they all know it works. However, the same chemicals in Aloe Vera that help you have healthy skin are not necessarily the same chemicals that increase hair growth or decrease hair loss.

The idea behind the theory was that by cleansing the pores on the scalp and my promoting a balanced pH level in the skin, hair growth should therefore improve. This is a great idea in theory, but it has not been proven. There have been no reported clinical trials that can support this claim, and it’s quite probable that there never will be. I suspect that somebody would have done it by now if the idea had merit.

In conclusion, I will continue to use aloe vera when I fall asleep in the sun. I will not, however, be putting it on my scalp and expect to re-grow any hair. I’ll just find something else for that.

Beta Sistosterol is a food supplement that has been around for quite some time, and has been used for a number of purposes in past. It has been used to help reduce cholesterol levels and improve prostate health. Recently, however, it has begun to be marketed as a possible hair-loss treatment. Being that I am a pretty curious individual, I had to investigate the facts.

This is, of cours, an herbal supplement and not a drug. Drugs are presribed or at least are FDA approved, whereas supplements are not. They often are quite effective at relieving ailments, but they are not necessarily “prescribed” to do so.

Beta Sistosterol comes from a group of plant extracts called phytosterols. In the past, these have been suspected to be natural DHT inhibitors, which is definitely promising. DHT, or dihydrotestosterone, is what causes hair loss in almost all the men and women in the world. Therefore, having less DHT is a great thing.

So, the question is, have people had success with this in the past? Well, in a clinical trial, over 60% of the participants showed improvement in their hair regrowth efforts after a 4 mont period. That’s not an incredibly high number, but it’s not too shabby either. There are of course hair loss products on the market right now that work better than this product, but you might as well use anything you can get that might help if you are serious about stopping your hair loss for good.

Because I had a friend ask me about this stuff called Alpicort F, I figured there are probably other people out there that also would like to know if it’s a legitimate product. I have decided to share what I know and have found out.

For starters, Alpicort F is not an FDA approved product, and it does not contain any of the substances that are already approved by the FDA to re-grow hair. However, as I have mentioned before, that does not necessarily mean that it is a completely useless product. Many of the all-natural ingredients in my favorite products are not FDA approved either, but I have seen some great results.

This is a topical solution, meaning it is applied to the scalp rather than being ingested. Its product label says that it contains 5mg estradiol benzoate, 0.2g prednisolone and 0.4g salicylic acid in 100mL of solution. From all of the investigating I have done, I cannot personally conclude that any of these ingredients have ever been proven to decrease the rate of hair loss, much less regrow hair that has already fallen out.

There is a label on the packaging that states that there are a number of negative side effects associated with Alpicort F, any one of which would be reason enough for me to decide that I would rather opt for a different product than test this one out. Some side effects include weight gain, increased appetite, and indigestion.

There has not beena clinical trial for this product, though I suspect in the long run there probably will be. Either way, I’ll probably stick to other products for now and stay away from products like Alpicort F that have not been proven.
