Hair Transplant Effectiveness

For people that have a few thousand dollars to spend, it’s easiest and most effective for them to simply pay someone to put hair back on their head. Hair Transplantation is of course not the most simple of hair restoration techniques as it is technically a form of surgery. However, for many people, it works just great.

I personally have chosen to just stick to hair loss products that re-grow hair naturally. It has turned out to be pretty cheap for me, and I also don’t really like the thought of having to get surgery. Lucky for me, I was in the early stages of hair loss when I started using Provillus, which grew a lot of my hair back naturally.

One problem with hair loss is that there is a point at which your hair follicles have been dormant for long enough that there is really no way they will ever produce hair again. I was apparently ahead of that point, but if you have been balding for quite a while, many products will simply stop FUTURE hair loss, but will not be able to re-grow hair.

Most people who do get a hair transplant are happy with the results. There is not a 100% success rate, meaning that not all hair grafts are successful at continuing to grow hair after they are transplanted. However, that’s not incredibly common. If it does happen, you may be able to work through your doctor for a partial refund. Be sure to ask about this BEFORE you commit to the surgery though, because afterwards it’s really too late to negotiate anything.

No matter who you talk to decide to talk to about hair transplant surgery, it’s a great idea to have a lot of different options to choose from. Ask to talk to some of the doctor’s past patients, and make sure they know you are shopping around, so they will be sure to give you the best price available for your hair transplant surgery.

Does Washing Your Hair Cause Hair Loss?

I have looked into this in the past, and it seems that a lot of people have fallen for this myth. What it comes down to is that when you wash your hair, you do tend to notice that you are washing off strands of hair. But, washing your hair is not what causes hair loss; it’s actually unrelated.

Shampoo Hair Loss Myth

Shampoo Hair Loss Myth

Hair loss occurs when your hair follicle stops producing hair for one reason or another, and there are plenty of reasons why this happens. However, when you wash your hair, all your are doing is washing out the hair that your follicles have already given up. If you were to never wash your hair, all that would happen is you would have a lot more loose strands of hair on your head, but they would not be attached or growing.

Washing your hair too much can of course lead to a dry scalp or some light irritation, which should be avoided. I personally do not wash my hair every single day, but that’s because I don’t want my hair or scalp to get too dry. I know that washing every day does not make me more bald.

If you are currently avoiding washing your hair because you don’t want to go bald, I just want to let you know that going bald is not cool, but having a greasy, half-bald head is even less cool. Wash whatever hair you have and find a different product to help with h hair loss.

Hair Loss Myth – Hang Up-Side Down

When looking for new products to review or questions to respond to, I sometimes come across hair loss myths that are just completely bogus, and a little bit funny. Most recently, I heard a myth that hanging upside down can help decrease hair loss. I can honestly say that there is no evidence to support it.

I know there is probably someone out there that claims they sleep upside down every night and now have a full head of hair whereas they used to be incredibly bald or at least headed that way. The bottom line, though, is that if a real clinical trial has not been conducted, it’s probably not a valid option.

Hanging upside down can probably increase the blood flow to your scalp, which is important in helping healthy hair to grow. However, blood flow needs to be increased all the time, not just when you have the time to hang upside down. Unless you sleep upside down, that’s not really a very convenient option.

If you are hanging upside down for extended periods of time, you also have to consider adverse health risks you are subjecting yourself to. First of all, your heart would have to work extra hard to pump blood to your feet, and the blood pressure in your head would be pretty high, which can cause you to black out in the short run, or lead to major headaches in the long run.

Ultimately if you want to increase the rate of blood flow to your scalp, it’s best to use a product with Minoxidil, which is already proven to do just that. You can definitely try hanging upside down, but just know it’s a hair loss myth, and nothing more.
